K8 CBR 1000 much harder to control than a 2K GSXR 750?
My 2K GSXR-750 was stolen and now I am looking into a new bike. Honda has nice 3.99% on the CBR 1000rr and I was just wondering how much harder would this K8 CBR 1000rr be compared to my 2K GSXR 750? I could handle the 750 reallu well and rode it fairly aggressive.
Thanks.
Thanks.

750 is a nice in between step up to the 1000. you can get some mags and read reviews. figure out hom much heavire the 1k is or it could be lighter. My old 750 was 1/2 the HP and 50lbs heavier then my 05 1kRR. The power band is also different GXR and ZX have power at redline or all on top and CBR has a lot of mid range which makes it a nice street bike. So what is the power and weight differences and do you have enough self control to step up. A new 600 could possibly have the same HP as you old 750, so being cheaper you can buy mods and gear.

If I'm reading that correctly, you had a 2000 GSXR750. I will bet the 08 CBR1000 is lighter and handles a hell of alot better than that older GSXR750. Technology now from 8 years ago is a world of difference in the handling dept. You can't go wrong if you buy the new 08 CBR1000RR. JMO

My friend had an 02 750 gixxer and I rode it a few times. The 1000 is lighter and more agile, but the 750 had a softer seat and suspension. I won't be too much of a transition and I think you will be okay, just remember that you have a lot more powe than your 2k 750 (about 40 more hp and it weighs less)
Welcome to the forum and good luck with your purchase! I am sure you will be happy with your new bike!

Hi lowsodium,
I owned a 2000 GSX-R750 in 2000 and it was an awesome bike (it would be interesting to try one today to see how it feels compared to today's literbikes).
If you have considerable experience and that you didn't have problems handling the 750, you should be just fine.
Of course, the power on the 1000 will bedramatically more thanyour 750, and it weight less. But on the flip side todays bikes are so refined, and Honda is known for building bikes that are veryuser friendly...
It also seems like Honda gave the new 1000 the same treatment the Gixxer 1000had last year compared to the previous generation (i.e.: more power at the top end, less torque down and in the middle), which should help you if you do not keep the revs too high to start with.
I sat on one at the dealership, this week. It's incredible how small it is and how light it feels!
If I did not own my '06 CBR1000RR, I would buy the new 08 (notice that I didnot say K8, in order not to hear the same useless comment again fromjohnny444).
Let us know what you choose to do!
