Issue with heating!!! HELP

i have a 2004 cbr1krr. i have a issue with my toy. cluster says its sitting at 270'f but when i put my thermal gun anywhere on cooling system, engine, anywhere and im lucky if im touching 220f. ive done coolant flush with engine ice, new temp sens, thermistat, burped the ssytem, checked wires and everything and everything checks out. so im at a loss idk where to go from here. any help would be appriciated.

@skittlz1krr Hi and welcome to the forum. The display only indicates what the temperature sensor says. I don't have a manual for that year and model, but most manuals indicate a specific resistance value at a given temp. Find out what those are and then check what your sensor indicates. If it indicates ok, then gauge cluster or ecu could be bad. Seems unlikely to be those though. How does the temperature progress? Does it start low when the engine is cold? If so, how soon after starting do you see a reading on the gauge cluster? How quickly does it rise?
