RE: Insurance
05 Hayabusa I pay a tick over 400 a year for full coverage, the CBR1000 should be cheaper since my insurance company only looks at displacement. This is with USAA which is not starting any new bike policies UNLESS you have a current bike insured with them, however Farmers gave me a similar rate...try them. The rate for the same year R1 was about 50 bucks a year cheaper.

RE: Insurance
Im not sure if my info counts as im from Australia, but i got mine cheaper as i have done a advanced rider cource and there was a low usage discount ( if you do less than 300 k's p/w ) I pay $1027 per year which is pretty cheap for a litre bike here in Oz.
Give it a go?

hey cbr chick get full coverage not worth the hassle and piece of mind if you crash.besides that if the insurance checks it could raise your premium.

That is probably the best thing I read. You don't own that bike, Honda's letting you ride while you pay it off. Stolen or God forbid the other senario put full coverage on it. If you want to ride a 1rr you play you pay. I feel your pain. Almost 30 and paying out the but.

RE: Insurance
I called every single insurance dealer/broker in my phone book. I found a HUGE difference... even written through the same company, different people quoted me wildly varying prices. Take some time & 'let your fingers do the walking'.
Also, it make a big difference on what your deductable is... if you can, go with the highest (or highest you can afford to go in the event of an accident). Some Co's give discounts on MSF courses; I even got a discount on my CA Superbike School courses. Lastly, most Co's give discounts for multiple coverage (house/renters, boat, health, life, etc)... and mine also gives a discount for non-smoker. Ask a lot of Q's.
Cheers
