Default How does Stock Exhaust Sound?

Hey,

For you guys with 08-09 CBR1000's how does the stock exhaust sound and perform. Sound wise is it too quiet, just right, or should it be louder? How does it sound at idle? How does it perform? Is there good low end torque mid range and top end with the stock exhaust? I put an aftermarket pipe on my bike from the start and I'm debating if I should put the stock pipe back.

I think the stock one's are very quiet. It's hard to even hear them running. The bike feels like a 600 and has the power of 1000. It can't get much better than that.

My exhaust sounds great after 50mph, it changes sound at exactly this speed. If i can have it sound like that all the time, i wouldn't change it..

Anyone know how that can be done?

Really quiet. Sewing machine quiet. Do the "flapper mod", then it's a bit growlier low down.
High revs, it's loud enough.

Don't go back to the stock can you will be very dissapointed. I did the flapper mod and rode it for probably 10 minutes and it does help but I'm one of those guys that always has to be modding whatever I got. First mod I did was put a Jardine RT5 can on it and it sounds great. The lag up to 4K rpms is gone and it just looks a hole hell of alot better.

Im interested what setup you went with also? I'm also interested in why you would even consider going from aftermarket back to stock?

I agree, why go back to stock? The exhaust flapper mod does help, and so does the intake mod, both together = good sound. What aftermarket do you have? Is it too loud?

I agree, very quiet. why go back to stock? The exhaust flapper mod helps. the intake mod with the exhaust flapper mod = good sound, but not as good as one of the many aftermarkets, not to mention aftermarket just looks alot better. Is your aftermarket to loud?

Thanks for the replies guys. I put a Jardine RT-5 slip on and I love the sound, but it's a bit too loud and I like loud, but I guess I do have limitations. This is a very LOUD pipe I think I would have to wear earplugs thats how loud it is. Just crusing at 60mph the bike sounds like its doing 100..lol.. Also, I need to get a PCIII b/c theres no low end torque with this pipe - no snap below 4000rpm. I think its running too rich down low. I heard this is a common problem when switching to an aftermarket pipe with this bike.
