Just wondering if anyone knows of a good helmet to match the cbr1000rr 06 red and black, looking to spend no more then 400 on it. Any help would be apreciated.

IMHO. . .ICON SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a red/black icon mainframe last year and it's a POS.

My HJC, however, is perfect and I just picked up another one in red/black. This time AC-12 (my other is a CL-SP) and this has the added benefit of identicle shields.

Edited to say: Not everything from Icon is a bad thing. . I own two pair of their gloves, elbow protectors, knee/shin protectors and a light weight jacket for very hot weather (not sure that I trust it to protect me, though). Their helmets, however, are horrible. I nearly passed out in the one I haveduring high heat conditions because they don't seem to be able to design a good ventillation system (not to mention that the top vents crack very easily). I don't have any experience with any of the other manufacturers, but I know for sure that HJC's system works like a champ.

 

I have an HJC AC-12. Not a bad helmet, but I completely surprised myself when I purchased a cheaper second helmet and I ended up liking it better. I puchased a Scorpion EXO helmet. The color matches the bike perfectly, it is a LOT more comfortable (IMO), and the lens doesn't fog. All for about 1/2 the price I paid for my AC-12 (the scorpion was about $135)

I still prefer the HJC's method of changing the shields, but other than that, it just collects dust. Please keep in mind that I am NOT saying that the HJC sucks, in fact, it is a good helmet, but I prefer the scorpion. It is worth checking out.

Scorpian all the way, I have two of them and the best thing is they will never fog up, guaranteed. Go for it man, you won't be disappointed.

I used this helmet to ride with my red/black Shoei X-Eleven Vermeulen 2 TC-5

the red was a little off, but the helmet was great. And it held up in a bad accident. I hit a wall with it on and it saved my life

SHOEI ALL THE WAY!

 

I have the shoe TZ-R Erratix TC-1 Helmet. The red is about as close as you can get.
