Default Heat Shield

Will anything be affected if I remove the heat shield on my bike? I see a lot pictures with them off, and must say it looks a lot cleaner, so was curious to know if there was a difference. Will my right leg get hotter than the left?

If you have a carbon fiberexhaust, then you should be fine without the heat shield under the seat. I took off the heat shield that sits right next to my right leg and it's slightly hotter but, not enough to really bother you.

The item on the left of this picture is the heat sheild. It goes on top of the exhaust and keeps the heat from melting your plastics.

My Scorpion Exhaust came with an adheasive heat sheild similar to a thick duct tape. I just cut it to the right size and stuck it under the tail of the bike.
