Default handling...moving from an f4i to an 06 1000rr

Im thinkin about moving up from a f4i to an 061000rr..Its for streets only..Although I would love more power if its not going to handle as well or be as flickable on the streets I wont bother...Will the 1000rr handle aswell or better than the f4i?
is it more flickable than the f4i?
Also will it turn in quicker than an f4i?
I know its not as flickable as a 600rr but was wondering if I can expect the same or better handling on the 06 1000rr as I do on the f4i. Please compare it to the f4i only since I have never ridden a 600rr

Default RE: handling...moving from an f4i to an 06 1000rr

I just moved up from a 2002 f4i to a 2007 1000RR just this weekend. The truth is that I still feel as if I am riding my F4i. The feel exactly the same, the only difference is that I am 6'1 and feel just a little more comfortable on the 1000RR than I did on the F4i.
Now I haven’t really opened up the 1000RR yet because I am still in the break-in period. But to answer you question with only my 3 days of experience and less than 150miles so far.
It’s the exact same bike until you twist the throttle.

I've got about 2000 miles on my 1000RR since buying it new. I've found it is a bit more stable at extrememly low speeds, i.e. I feel very balanced while trying to keep it up and in a straight line inching towards the stop light. The difference in the throttle is a bit intimidating at first, at least it was for me. Now that I am used to it

I'm sorry, I lost my train of thought, I was watching the avatar from the post above........ Where was I.....

Anyways, I'm more comfortablie with it now and feel I can corner as good as I could on the F4i, that is until I get back on the F4i. Then I can tell the cornering difference. You can't take out on the RR in the same manner your accustomed to on your F4i, otherwise you'll be picking yourself up off the ground if your not paying attention.

I'm sorry I just can't stop watching that avatar, I'm leaving now...

You will by far have more fun on a 600 than a literbike..I suggest looking at the new 600RR or GSXR 750. Height doesnt matter. If ride more street these are perfect street bikes...maybe even check out that 675.

I don't know about you being 6'1 but I like the larger liter bikes. They handle just as good if not better than a 600 more stable to me. This is on the street not the track. Its a great bike and handles what ever the road dishes out. I felt the 600 was just too small in size and it didn't fit me well. The larger 1000 is more comfortable.

Yeah, I'm not sure where this by far stuff comes from, other than one persons opinion.

After about a month of adjusting to the RR, it IS my preferred in town bike. It handles like a dream, the F4i does to, but it doesn't pack that low end punch.

Well my 2006 1krr has 4500 miles on it and i bought it brand new, coming off a 2004 f4i i was thinking the handling was gonna be hard to adjust to but i was wrong. I'm 5'7" and 145 pounds and i feel more comfy on the 1krr, i dunno it just seems like it is way more balanced and my cornering has improved alot from the f4i... overall id never ride my f4i if i had the 1krr also
