When i got my competition werkes kit, i thought the same thing, WOW i paid $150 for this?? btu when you start to figure out prices, $75-$95 for a nice spring hinged plate holder. $25 for nice duel LED Projection plate light, $25 for blinkers, and instructions and mounting brakets, it really isn't that bad of a price. you couldn't build your own, and piece it all together and have it look that good. thats for sure, in the past i made a nice plate holder from ABS plastic and it looked nice but it wasn't as nearly as durable and buyinga metal one. i for one am happy. as long as i get a warmer day to install it.

has anyone ever tried to mess with it and create their own "fender eliminator" out of it??
About $5.00 in aluminum siding stuff at Lowe's and a little ingenuity =

Later, I spent about $50 on Ebay for an undertail:

Nah- I am too broke for that right now. The heel plates are carbon vinyl stickers over stock plates (about $10 for a small roll at an auto parts store) and a $1.00 can of flat black paint from wal-mart for the rearsets + $2 for flat clear coat.

I have also played around with some mesh tint. <Old Thread Link>

Basically, don't be afraid to try new things as long as you can undo it later. Some day I will replace it with the high-quality stuff, but for now I am happy!
