False neutral?
Yes it was a clutched shift. I was also suffering form hypothermia at the time. Three hours into a wet cold ride. Possibly even a lazy shift cause I could hardly feel my legs and hands.
Thats probably all it was then. When it happened to me, i was just getting out of 45 minutes of bumper to bumper traffic. Since then, i have definitely realized how much smoother it is to shift without the clutch; even if i'm not really getting on it.
Hey guys, sorry this is a 1000RR thread and I'm riding a 600RR, but just wanted to ask quick if it's ok to shift without a clutch(I saw mlynch's post)... Isn't that hard on the bike?
Are you guys still having this issue? I just picked up my bike, and have only ridden it twice. It has happened 8 times already.
On the first ride I went about 120 miles and it happened 4 times, so I had one of my friends ride it, and it happened twice to him within 10 minutes.
It seems to be isolated to upshifts between 5th and 6th.
It did however happen once when upshifting from 4th to 5th.
The first time, I thought maybe I just made a lazy shift, but after that was extremely cautious to make positive shifts.
I checked the adjustment of the gear shifter and everything is perfect.
Seriously Bummed!
