It would help to know what year you're talking about, but if it's an undertail, forget it. I tried drilling holes in the stock exhaust of my '05 and it made very little difference in the sound.

the sound difference is very different depending on how big of holes your drilling...i hole sawed 1 1/4 out of both the exhaust holes...sounded loud and mean btu kinda like a 2 stroke dirt bike...i liked it untill i got my scorpion on now i love the sound...get you an extension hole saw and drill,,thats all you need...takes a couple minutes...

If you have the butterfly in the exhaust like my 05 had, removing that alone increased my hp. I put on a Two Bros. and right away I saw that when I ripped on the throttle hard, my front end will now come up. Before with stock it did not at all.

If you gut the stock exhaust you will gain sound, and probably loose a small amount of power, There is a chm exhaust on ebay for your bike prety cheap, it says its for 600, but it really doesn't matter, the cans are all universal.
