08 1000 seat debate
I personally seen the Corbin seat for the 08 1000 on their website months ago, but I don't like the look or feel of the seat.
Spoke to the Sargent representative & he said the 08 1000 isn't on the shortlist to be made, but they could do a custom job for me. Said it would take just two weeks. . told him I'd probably do that during the winter when I can't ride anyway.
& from personal experience with both the Sargent seats & Corbin seats the Sargents are far superior to their Corbin counterparts.
I didn't know Honda made a factory aftermarket seat, so I'm gonna check those out before I take two weeks of no riding to get a Sargent.
Anyways just my 2 cents.

Yeah, thanks for that link, white. I wouldn't have paid the normal $299 + shipping. That guy is great to deal with too.
As far as the seat.... it arrived quickly, and installation was a snap. Fit perfectly, and the stock bolts are used.
It's non-slip, so it saves some effort while riding....before I relied heavily on my Stomp-Grips to keep me in place - not nearly so much now.
I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet, but it is a noticeable difference. It's not a huge difference, but I think for a longer ride, it would definitely make a difference. For shorter rides, I think the non-slip is the biggest advantage.
I'll post more once I get a chance to put some more miles on it.
Thanks again for the discount!
