Convince me to buy '06-'07 1000RR
First off, it's all OldFatGuy's fault that he let me ride his.
With that out of the way, I'm curious to hear other owners reviews. The 1000RR is at the top of my list, the second being the R1 - and I'm not too interested in the GSX-R1000 or ZX-10R either (nice but seem cheaply made).
I'm interested in hearing about:
1) Any recalls or service issues? mechanical, electrical etc...
2) When's the major service interval - valve adjustment?
3) Anyone notice the differance with HESD? Any problems with excessive head shake when the front gets light?
4) Will the rear wheel spin up easily if given too much juice out of a turn and get hairy (with normal street tires)?
5) Anyone felt the need to change stock gearing front/rear?
6) I'm about 240 ish, will I need to respring the forks? (My F4i was stock, maybe should've gone w/heavier springs?)
7) Under seat space? - I like to carry a full tool kit just in case.
The deciding factor of whether moving to a liter or not was dependant upon insuarnce. I was quoted $360/year full coverage, so it isn't as bad as I though it would be. After being on the 600 for almost a year and 7500 miles later I figured I'd be ok to move up. Was going to wait until next summer or fall to do so, but considering the recent circumstances of the accident, it'll be happening a little sooner then I originally thought. I also never really wrang the F4i's neck, but I really prefer the low end power that the 1K's offer, as opposed to zilch down low on the 6's.
Thanks for your info [8D]

The CBR 1000 RR is a working mans bike. Its a muscle bike like the muscle cars of the 1960's.I work in a yard with over 500 blue collar working men. They make a good living but they break there *** everyday.we work different shifts so everyone is comming and going 24/7 every day of the week.Sometimes just cant help but to give the boys a little show before they go home.If you asked all 500 of them my guess would be they would say buy the 1000 RR.

You know you want it. Nobody needs to talk you into it. I think you're just fishing around for another test ride on my baby!
