Charging problem
I have a 2005 1000rr. I have replaced the stator, rectifier and i have a new battery. After riding for a while, i turn off the bike and it wont start, the battery loses voltage and cant crank the engine,please help!!!!!!

there was a TSB/recall/warranty extension of some sort...

If the 08 is still under warranty then I would take it to the dealer. It prolly wont cost you anything. Dont have some joe shmoe try & fix it if its is under warranty. They might mess something up & cause it not to be a warrantable repair.
For the 05 you need to check the stator output & check to see if it has grounded. What kind of volts are you getting at the battery? As asked before was everything replacedat once? You could have replaced something & it not fixed it & the battery is now bad. Did you make sure to install dowel pinsin the case & that one didnt get stuck on the flywheel? I have seen it before is why I'm asking. What volts are you getting at the battery? Check stator output. (AC volts) |
