CBR1000RR vs. RC51
Please compare the CBR1000RR and RC51.
Please tell me which is quicker, which is more stable at high speed, which has more responsive steering and handling, etc. Any aspect of performance, comfort, ride-ability, heck even fuel economy. As for the looks, you can tell me which one you think looks better if you want to, but I already have my own opinion (if it wasn't for the Repsol replica paint and graphics, I wouldn't even look at the CBR1000RR; I like dual exhaust and big twin headlamps, personally). Thanks! |
1000rr has more torque and horsepower than the rc51, im pretty sure the rc51 is lighter and handles better.
|
RC51 has more torque down low, thats where V-twins have it. my 1krr is real stable at high speeds and the dampener works awesome... its feels equally at home at 120mph as it does at 60-70 mph.

+1 on the sound, and low end i want to buy one bad, but a gun safe full of guns and 2 bikes already has the wife bitching enough.
It is my understanding that the lasat couple of years or is ith the last year they made it , it had dual stage fuel injectors... can anyone tell me more spacifics on the twin injectors per cylinder on the RC? |
well i dont know if its the same on the V-twin Rc51 but on the cbr's with DSFI,there is a upper injector and a lower injector, the lower injector is what is used at lower rpms and once the rpms reach a certain speed (when your cookin it down the straitaway)the upper kicks in along with the lower and gives it that boost to keep things smooth and efficient...2 per cyl 8 total on an inline, 4 total on a v-twin... god i'm a genuis.lol
Thats very vague but you get the idea. Joe |
The 1000RR is better in almost every regard... but the RC51 is cooler and more unique.
I still often regret passing on a 2002 RC51 and getting my CBR, but not enough to sell the RR and buy a RC51 |
If you want to be more unique get the 51. Personally I don't like the sound of twins, I think they sound like a big fart, but they are different and loud.

It depends a 1krr is better for someone who will ride everyday to work and such. It is more comfortable and a better bike fo 90% of people. Watching a RC51 with a skilled rider is amazing. If you are not a skilled rider (be honest with yourself) go for the 1krr. You will enjoy it more. The RC51 will whip you if you aren't carefull. If I had a choice RC51 all the way no question. A black '06 to be exact. What ever you do don't go look at an RC if you aren't going to buy one. When it fires up you will want one.
