Buying an 08 cbr 1000RR (would like Input)

Hi all. Im silverf3 i have and f3 and want to upgrade to a new bike.
Im going for the 08 1000rr and have been reading threads about two big problems, 1. oil burning. 2. Cluth. But i know all the bike that come out of the factory cant have this. or one of these.

My question is what do you guys think the chances of getting one of these bikes are.
High being 5 out of 10 and so on.

second i have read ppl are waiting to buy till honda fixes problems, how long or when would you think more models of this year will be in the clear. 06/09 07/09 ???

Thanks for your time, any input would be very much help.

P.S Sorry for my bad grammer and spelling. I passed high school very ......... lol

Thanks.

Mine doesn't burn oil, and I don't have any clutch problems. I didn't have any clutch problems, and then I did the clutch recall, and still don't have any clutch problems. I haven't heard of any widespread problems at all. I certainly haven't had any problems whatsoever. I don't think that there is a systemic problem with the bike - you are taking specific cases of people having problems and generalizing. Bikes have problems from time to time - especially bikes that get ridden hard like sport bikes sometimes do. That doesn't mean that there is necessarily a problem with the design.

I'm usually with your thinking re: buying a new model, but this is Honda, and they do a good job - not only when designing cars/bikes, but also of taking care of their customers.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy an '08 or an '09.

the oil problem was only the first few hundred bikes that were made. You should be fine I bought the first Black 08 off the truck and mine is fine.

the Clutch "upgrade" is not a recall. There is nothing wrong with the clutch the bike has. They decided the one on the bike may not last as long as they wanted it to so they are upgrading you to a free better clutch. you have until 2011 to do the swap fyi so there is no hurry.

I got one of the first bikes and I dont burn oil and the clutch is silky smooth. I did do the clutch recall and it feels the same, smooth. Beside how could you resist this sexy machine......

No oil or clutch issues at all at least with mine.. The 2008 CBR 1K is 100% recommended and after you have ridden one you'll agree.

Thank you guys very very much this is right what i was looking for, this makes it alot easyer.
I was thinking the same thing, maybe some of those problems came from, not breaking in the bike as well as they could have. And yes it is an amazing bike. I getting this bike in a few months and cant wait to turn the key.

Thanks again. thanks alot.

HAHAHAHAHA too funny. What's more funny is I haven't seen any chicks riding a red one like mine.....or an 08 1000 for that matter.
