Default Breaking in My New CBR1000RR

Well I picked up my new 2006 CBR1000RR [Red/Black] today ...and love it !!!!!!!!!

Any recommendations for the break-in ? The dealer just said keep it under 6000rpm and 100km/h (60mph)...The owner's manual says nothing !?

Should I ignore the 6000rpm limit and just ride the thing hard ??? In the past with my other bikes ..I just rode them hard and just kept varying speed and rpms...and never had any problems (ie. GSX-R, Ducati 748 etc)

Is this 1KRR unique in terms of required break-in ????

Ideas / opinions ??

I LOVE THIS BIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dealer told me to just ride it like I'm gonna ride, just don't beat on it until after about 350- 400 miles. He said definitely don't baby it, just ride like I'm gonna ride it the rest of the time I own it and keep an eye on the fluids and tire pressures.

I have had AWESOME luck with this.....ride with varying rpm's up to about 8k. Accelerate and decelerate often for 200 miles. Once you hit 200 miles, let it rip! All my new bikes have recorded higher than average hp numbers on the dyno this way.

From what I understand of breaking in engines you just really want to avoid long, sustained periods of the same RPM. Try to vary it for a while, which really means stick to city riding for a while. You don't want to hop on a new bike and drive to Daytona. Unless you actually live in Daytona....

Congrats by the way. I'm scratching away at buying my '06. Hopefully I'll have it in the next week or so.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone ! After reading your thoughts and lots of other articles I found ...I decided to give it a little harder break-in...so yesterday with 50 miles on it...I took it out on some country roads and gave 'er another 150 miles with constant accel/decel and rips up to 8000 rpm in first 4 gears....damn this is a fast bike !!!!!!!
