braided brake lines.

braided brake lines.
I installed my Speigler braided brake lines tonight. It was an easy, straight forward install. The only thing that took a little time was bleeding the brakes afterward. It took quite a bit of bleeding to get the lever to stop coming back to the bar. I had some stubborn bubbles.

it's all about the pressure -- stock brake lines by nature have a fair bit of flex/expansion in the material itself, which makes the actual brake response softer/spongier compared to braided lines which are much less giving and allow the pressure on the fluid to remain much more an exact function of the brake lever, hence a more sharp brake response.

The difference is not so much in power but feel. The feel is more progressive and linear. The original lines are rubber so they flex..balloon might be a better way to put it. There is no give in the braided lines so all the pressure is transmitted to the calipers... That gives me more confidence in the brakes.
On my old 600 it made a huge difference in stopping power, but on that bike the lines were overdue for replacement.
