Hey guys I need some advice about these air fliters. I want to upgrade to a bmc race filter. What are the pros and cons about a race filter vs a standard fliter. I know the race filter lets it breathe better but does it allow more debris in your engine? And if it does will it hurt my engine in the long run? Have't been on the site in awhile due to winter blues here but spring is coming and I'm getting the bike ready to break some laws!

 

Flows more air/have to clean twice as often.

 

I have the race filter in my '05 and it seems to work great. i just try to clean it every 2k miles, especially of i do alot of driving in traffic. Have you checked the price yet? I think I paid over $100 because it is actually two filters.

nobody said it was cheap, lol... actually, they are no different than Fram filters, they just cost more because of they are "imported".... all this stuff is too friggin expensive for sure.

 

The BMC's are great. Better quality than K&N. I've used both. Don't waste your $$ on the street version. I used the race filter on my previous ZX-10R, and everytime I checked it, the filter looked good and the airbox was clean.
