just wondering what helmet brand eliminates air noise from ridin at high speeds.... i had a soumy but i dont really wanna spend that much again... any suggestions about helemts that dont kill your ears at high speeds

 

had shoei diabloic was better then my HJC but still some noise

 

I ride with a shoei tz/r and its pretty good on wind noise comparied to others but for me I not that happy on the wind noise....Shark supra is a very quite helmet..it is very good in all aspects but the one thing that turned me off is it just makes my head look so big...

 

i have a scorpion, and it seems too be pretty good with air, not to mention it never fogs, no matter what your doing. my gf has an icon and its not incredibly bad as far as wind goes, but its horrible in the fog department.

 

My Arai is muchquieter than my HJC flip-up helmet. Can anyone compare a Shoei with an Arai from personal experience?

i was wearing my buddies arai and my ears poped again last night we were going like 90 avg sometimes 120 avg.... my suomy had the anti-fog strip on it that was nice... that arai doesnt have must be too old...

 

ipod or mp3 player.. at least with one ear, i still have the other listening to the road and surroundings.. i use ICON battlecry helmets, not bad for air noise but it does fog up a bit (in cold) they do have something like thishttp://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...0102&mmyId=

i know alot of wind noise comes from the bottom of your helmet, try wearing a collar shirt one day then on the same day dont wear a shirt - it seems like more wind noise will happen with no shirt on while the collar kind-of blocks it from comming in.. just a theory.

 

I agree on earplugs.
I think any helmet that has decent ventilation, will have increased wind noise.
I prefer improved ventilation over decreased wind noise.
Riding postion, and windscreen shape has great effect on wind noise.
When I am in full tuck position mywindscreen (stock) diverts the air directly into the upper air vents.
Windblast also on the shoulders and neck area very loud when tucked down.
It's impossible for me to contort my body to minimize wind noise.

 

noise cancelling earplugs. You can use it with your ipod or cd player. They are about 40 to 300bucks depending upon the brand and sound guality
