Default backfire blown out valve cover gasket HELP

while riding at 55 or so i recently heard a popping noise like i blew a tire, no other concerns noticed, i kept riding all ok, but there was a puff of smoke i think. Yesterday while riding home from work, it happened again, while on the freeway. I then smelled burning oil, noticed smoke pouring out the back of the bike. After trailering home and dissassembly i found the valve cover gasket had a section blown out of it. Anyone heard of this, or what would cause the crankcase pressure to build this high? Please help....

I'm not meaning to sound like a smart-***, but your crankcase probably isn't venting. Check around for a kinked or plugged off hose.

The bike is a 2004 CBR1000.
Yeah i'd agree no venting, but for it to push out the pressed in place valve cover gasket its gotta be a lot of pressure. Long rides did nothing, only when going to or from work. Just weird....

Did not read the whole thread, but who is doing the installation??
He might not be following the torquing sequence or not torquing at all. Unevenness seating of the heads might be your issue.

Don't bother reading it. The original thread is 13 years old.

still current, im having the issue at the moment.

I am experiencing a valve cover gasket blowout.
3 x in the last 1500 kms... cover torqued to spec by me. 2001 CBR 929re
Bike runs great for a few 100 kms , stop for rest, fuel or snack, and then start the bike again and pop right at start up it blows out. each time in a different spot. I have checked and rechecked hoses, breathers and pair valve.
only other thing i've heard about was a faulty stator setting off the crankcase gases somehow and popping the valve cover gasket. I have a new stator coming and will try that hope it works.
