avg milage per tank

Hey 1k rr guys i have a 600f4i and i am thinking of a getting a 1krr and was woundering how many miles are you getting from a full tank of gas, I commute 65 miles one way and a round trip is like 145 -150, do these bikes get that per tank?

RE: avg milage per tank

I think i stretched out my tank to almost 150. If you did the speed limit you can get good mileage. Ya right who does the speed limit. I noticed if I am cruising on the freeway I can stretched it out rather than gassing the hell out of it.

My light comes on at around 85 miles...I do mostly city riding (many lights) and hardly get over 5k rpm in 2nd or 3rd gear. Does city riding make that much of a difference?

I get around 140 before my light comes on. If I fill it right away it only takes about 3.4 gallons so I should still have plenty left.

I get anywhere between 120 and 160 before the light comes on. Depending on the throttle wrist.

About 140 to 150 miles before the light comes on...most of those miles are highway miles.

You guys must be cruising around alot....................I always get between 90 - 100 and my light faithfully always comes on. Easily the worst Honda I've ever owned as far as gas mileage is concerned. Those 90 miles are PURE bliss though.

RE: avg milage per tank

After I got a $250 speeding ticket (exceeding the speed limit by over 100mph) I sort of throttled back a bit, hence my average gas mileage. I'm still a bit throttle shy on the highways. I racked up 8 points against my license and a mandatory 3 month suspension. Still, when I'm on my way to work and hit the private road to the site I work at, it's no-holds-barred and I can get her deep into the tripple digits........but mainly we're talking 65 to 85mph for my average highway speeds.

What is sad is that I live in the desert southwest and there are tons of wide open spaces and stretches of road that beg you to pin the throttle, but unfortunately there are a disproportional number of law enforcement personel taking the easy road, acting like they are full-time traffic cops. Sucks-a-lot.

I was getting about 110 to 120 miles per tank before the speeding ticket, but I'm thinking that 130 to 150 miles per tank is closer to the norm. One way or another it gets at least twice the mpg as my truck and is 10 times more fun to commute on. [8D]

I've had like 5 different bikes, and my current bike is an 06 CBR1000RR and I always get on AVERAGE around 100 miles per tank... If I'm riding it hard I'll get high 80's, If I'm cruising I'll get high 120's.

RE: avg milage per tank

When cruising I try and keep it below 5k RPM where the secondary injectors are supposed to kick in. In that manner, I will get around at least 145 miles before my light turns on. Otherwise my light turns out around 131 miles with moderate riding.

I rarely go beyond 8k RPM except when I am being a bad boy [8D]

RE: avg milage per tank

It depends how you ride, I do a lil of both, work commute, and str8 haulin ass and the mix of the 2 my light comes on round 120-130miles an that still leaves me a gallon to get more gas, so Id say if i pushed it keeping below 8K after the light comes on it would be 140-150ish what ever you guys are doing to get less than 100 miles sucks balls. but it is not the bike, it is something you did to the bike or something your doing while riding um?
