Here is a thread about the Heli Bars on the CBR. You can also do a search (located at the bottom right of the page, in case you are unfamiliar with it).

RE: Attention All '06 1000RR Owners - Your Help Please
Dear Wilhon,
I am SO grateful to you for your reasoned and balanced response. I am especially grateful and it carries a lot of weight for me that you have also been a Hayabusa owner meaning you bring that experience/perspective to the mix. That you are an MSF instructor carries a lot of credibility for me when you say you use the 1000RR as your demo bike. I am in total agreement with you about the Gold Wing it never ever entered my consciousness. I am truly hoping that the Concours14 will be a middle ground a lot of torque and acceleration and comfort for long distances and maybe my wife will join. Thank too for the "I wouldn't carry a passenger on it" so it is essentially a one person bike. That factors in for me. As I noted there are people who do two up touringon the Busa. Your replies helped a lot!
Some of my background. My father taught motorcycle maneuvers to the British during World War 2. He rode Norton and BSA and Triumph and told me the only thing they were good for was straight line to run yourself up a tree and they were leakers too. So when I was looking at bikes Triumph owners told me spare us your 60 year old anecdotes the Triumph has changed. Well wouldn't you know I went to a review of the Triumph and the editor said that when he turned the bike on the clock re-set itself! The suspension was not good and on and on. Funny how some things do not change.
Thank you again and I will sit tight and await the Concours14 and the new Busa will be unveiled at the show in July in Vegas..So I am down to those two...again because the Busa can also be set up for touring and I love low end torque which for me translates to effortlessness.
Sincerely,
Christopher

Wow i must have come late to this post.. Heres some advice christopher, the minute you mention another bike/brand all the kids are gonna be all over you like a fat kid on a cup cake. Everyone here is very passionate about the bikes we love so dont expect 1 person here to turn around and say yeah your right our bikes are crap and go buy a busa. Go with what fells right, either way im sure no one is fussed with what you end up buying. We love our 1000RR's and if you wanna be part of our clan im sure we will be happy for you with your purchase.

Get what you want. The CBR1k is an awesome bike. I love it. To me its the best 1k bike you can get. But if you are considering a busa that also is an awesome bike. People who say its too heavy or long or doesn't handle well, don't know what they are talking about or just haven't mastered the bike yet. Mine handles just fine, takes coners like its on rails. As is extremely comfortable.
Have you not seen the video with the guys riding 2 up on a honda goldwing and passing others that were on a 600 or 1000 through the twisties.
New busa, yes definitely but the current busa is a classic. There will never be anything like it. As far as the ZX-14, yeah it has all the stats but it does not have the classic sporty look of the BUSA.

funny i had a 900 rr Onaram before i got my o6, yeah the bike was about 7-8 years old but nowsuch a step up you can feel a difference and the 900 was a great bike.the 06 feels so stable and like its on rails, great bike even my friend who brought a 06 gixer liter after riding mine admits the cbr rides much better but he has a bias for gixers and got his for 10250k out the door wouldnt allow him to get a honda.but he repeats how much he likes the feel of the cbr.
