Vote for 600rr. Have you got the chance to sit on the new 600rr? I have an 07 and I love the whole feel of the bike. Everything about it. I love how it handles and for me it has plenty of power. If I went back I would not change my decision on getting the 600rr

 

Im not wanting to get into any arguements about whats significant or not... but here I go. jk.... Thrasher, we all have different opinions and I respect yours, I just dont fully agree.

the 01 F4i 96hp and 42.5 tq and 435lbs wet weight. quarter mile time of 10.70.
the 06 RR, 106 hp and 44 tq and 431lbs wet weight quarter mile time of 10.60. Granted, its not the new RR's numbers, but I couldnt find any.

These were all from sportrider magazine, so Im sure their pretty close. to me personally, not significant enough to drop money when his current bike is that close.

The point I was trying to make was since he already had a very capable 600, he wouldnt be that impressed with a new 600. He should just stick with what he has. If he's not planning on any trackdays or really aggressive riding, which it sounds like he is not, then his current bike is a very good choice to stick with. even if he was planning track days, I'd still be hard pressed to get a newer bike.

Unless your bike is falling apart and you need a new bike, I'd stick with it.

 

You are absolutely right his F4i is an awsome machine. When I was faced with the choice of newer 600 or larger displacement ,there was a healthy 750 class...which has now all but disappeared. I bought a 750 rather than suffer the disappointment of the machine not being different enough. I did not make that call at 19 years of age. When it came time to replace the 750, I again stepped up the displacement ladder to the literbike. Current 600s have basically replaced the 750 class(except for suzuki). If an additional 10 -12hp doesn't float your boat stick with the F4i.
The jump to the litrebike is a huge difference in performance. I don't want to project my level of maturity at 18 on anybody...But I was 10 feet tall and bulletproof then. I wanted the biggest,baddest and meanest machine I could get my hands on. I would have surely died if there were current level literbike equipment were available then. My attitude, lack of experience, and invincibility would have got the best of me.
Hopefully the original poster is more mature if he selects the 1000rr.
New info today... The 2009 cbr 600rr has been detuned the the same output as the old F4i...So look for an 08 if you want the highest output stock rr to date.

Well I like the 1000rr alot better than the others. It took me some getting used too but I felt like the 600rr was getting old. But respect the bike either way. They will hurt you
