I just picked up my '06 1000RR for 10,800. So, $500 off and no freight. It's a little off season, so that may have had something to do with it...
Did you have to pay tax on top of $10,800? If so how much tax?

Nope. I live in NH. Of course it'll cost me a bit to register it at my town office. I'm still on my 20 day temp plate but I expect it'll cost a couple hundred to register it since the registration cost is based on vehicle value.

Tribal -

$9,716 is a GREAT price. I paid $9,800 + tax, but I've purchased many bikes from my dealer here in Ft. Lauderdale.

What a bike!! Yards ahead of my previous '04 ZX-10R.

I Just got home about 30 minutes ago. My black and red 06 1000RR is in my garage already on it's rear stand. I ended up paying $9756.56 before my local sales tax. After the 6.75% sales tax my total OTD will be $10415.00. Now, after I add my what my fuel expenses were get to TN and back I will really see what I saved or paid for that matter. I don't care because now I can go in to my local dealer and show them my sales invoice proving to them that Honda Powersports really sell bikes at their published guaranteed
lowest price with out the BS added costs like $500 for fright and prep.

Now it's time to start saving for Mods.

Congrats to you guys getting your new 1000rr's!

I sold my '02 954rr last year and I just miss it too much. I am going to the Powersports dealership here in Lake Mary Florida to see what they've got them going for. Mal, that's a great looking price for Florida, though I've not shopped around yet. Since you're a returning customer I am sure that works really well for you. I'd be happy with $10,500, really.

I will be going this morning, and I will report what I find when I return. I'm going for the all-black one I think. Looks so hot...

BTW guys, when does the 2007 model come out? Someone told me the new one is out in April? Is this wrong? They also said this is going to be a totally new CBR and I should wait for it. Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a while.

The 06's came out this February though I think some Dealers had them late in January. The 07's should come out the same time in 07.

Ok thanks guys. I thought they were misinformed...

I went to the dealer the other day and saw the bike. What a beauty. Love the all black the most. They calculated the price of everything including tax OTD.

"Retail after all the freight, tax and handling fees you're looking at $12,899"

They have a price tag of $11,299. I told them I want $10,500 OTD plus tax, which would be $11,130. We'll see where it goes...

Alright here's the email transcript of my conversation with my local dealer. I had already been into the store face to face.

Let me know what you guys think.

Hi Hudson
Well, $10,500 out the door cant be done by us, retail after all the freight, tax and handling fees your looking at $12,899, i might be able to meet ya somewhere in the middle. Let me know what ya want to do.

Hi (salesman),
I didn't know if here in Florida you pay tax at the dealership, or when you register the bike. I forgot to ask you this, and this would raise the price as I was thinking tax was paid during registration. $10,500 out the door after 6% tax paid at your dealership comes to $11,130. How does that sound?

Hi Hudson, well i'd thought i'd clarify the price issue, The first step is to get you in the store and financed, then i can say to you if the price is not good for you what do you want to pay, then i can go fight for your price with the managers, Retail is $11,299, you asked for $10,500. Thats $800 off retail i can maybe get you half of that which would be $10,900. Then you still have dealer fees, $350 for freight inbound, $249 for asssembly and fluids, $129 dealer handling, $3.50 FL lead battery acid and tire fee. You'll pay this on any brand new bike. If you add all that up then and add your tax which depends on which county you live in (6-7%) you'll have the out the door price. I'm supposed to get you in the door and ready to buy first before i do this. I'm hoping I can earn your business so this is why i'm giving you the heads up.. let me know what your plans are.
thanks.

I personally don't believe in all the addon charges. A bike costs what the sticker says. And I'm a believer in finding out what the dealer invoice says, and making sure they make no more than 5% on the transaction.

The real money for these guys comes from supporting me as a rider. I live 3 miles from this dealer. And service and equipment would add up to a lot of money.
