RE: 2006 1000RR $10,500 OTD?
$10,500 OTD with no additional cost what so ever would be a great price.
There is no way to get that kind of price here in OH. I anticipate being able to talk the dealer down maybe $500 off retail but then they will try to add $500 for prep, shipping and what ever else they can try to justify adding in.
I plan on going to Southern Powersports located at Chattanooga TN. They will sell you one for about $9700 out "their" door then you have pay what ever registration tax you have in your state. I am going down to TN some time this coming spring and bring one back to OH. My total price with OH tax should be about $10,379
If I could I would buy one here in OH for $10,500 OTD I would not think twice about it. It will cost me a little more then the difference in gas, time and a hotel room to drive 14 hours round trip to TN. To give you an idea, after intense negations I bought my 05 CBR600RR in May of 05 for $9000 which included tax OTD, basically the full retail price OTD. Using the same equation or buying the 06 CBR1000RR for full retail OTD I should save about $1000 going to TN, not to mention the satisfaction of riding the bike in to the dealer here in OH bragging by saying look how much I spent.

Honestly, I seriously doubt I 'll be able to buy the 06 for $10,500 OTD, concidering the 05 models are still on the floor. But I'm gonna try my best to hustle them, & if I m gonna pay more, I'll make sure to have them throw things with it, extended warranty, 12 oil filters, wrench, tank cover, ANYTHING...LOL..............will keep you posted.

Wait til after the mags do their liter bike comparisons since the Honda will almost undoubtedly come out on bottom so the prices will drop by July. Most honda buyers are used to this so it doesn't really matter what the mags say.
If you can find a deal on a leftover '05, grab it, since the performance difference with the '06 will be neglegible. Use the money you saved to put a full exhaust/PC/sprockets and you're there for a lot less money.
