2005 CBR 1000rr problem
So I bought an 05 CBR1000rr and it is a one owner bike and has full maintenance records. I came out pretty ahead by buying it since I payed so little, but I do have one issue with the bike. So if I get on the bike and ride maybe 10 feet, and let off the throttle and start heading downwards in rpm, the bike makes a noise like something is bouncing around and is loose for like 1 second, and then if I keep going and shift into second, etc its fine.
Any ideas? or if anyone lives in the panhandle (crestview, florida area) I could show it in person. |
Also: No problems while idling, starting up, etc.

Not that sure I can interpret your symptoms but have you checked your chain and slider. It could be slapping around off torque and the rattle could we a worn slider. Just a guess. Best of luck mate.

We checked the chain yesterday. It's hard to explain and i'd take a video but its pouring down rain here lol

Also, rotate the wheel while it is up off the ground and check for a binding link. The chain might have the correct slack in one area but if there's a bad section on the chain the slack will change. |

How much total slack did it have? If you push down and pull up on the chain at the midway point between the two sprockets on the bottom half of the chain there should be around 1" - 1.25" freeplay. Any more than that it is too loose. Any less it is too tight.

It has like 1 inch free on the bottom all the way around. I took another test drive on it and kinda got more of a better way to describe it. Drive it down road, hand on clutch obviously and let it go slowly, and at about 10-13mph or so it will feel like it jumps a bit, but then by time im at 20mph it feels fine. same for if I would slow down to 13mph or so and pull the throttle back a bit to gain speed. starts feeling like it is jumpy. |
It's basically like when you let off the clutch at too low of speed (3 mph, etc on normal bikes) and it wants to shake. Thinking it may just be how the bike is.

Hey there, stop posting on multiple threads. Raise one new one in the correct area and wait for a response.
It's not the way to get help on the forum. |
