2005 CBR 1000 RR Noise when warm
Hi, I wonder if anybody out there can help me.
My bike starts and idles perfectly and sounds super. But when it warms up at 58 degrees Celsius it starts to make a similar to weak Camchain noisy tappet sound.
I had the the the Cam Chain tensioner and chain replaced. But the noise is still there.
I was also told to have the shims checked out and to make sure the clearance is perfect which it is. Done that and noise is still there.
I had the bike serviced with new oil filter plugs etc....
Have anybody heard about this before?
Thank you in advance.

While its hard to tell based on your description, it sounds like normal noise to me. The 1000rr of that generation just has a noisy engine. My 05 has done it since new and there are now over 20,000 miles on it, and it still does it. The thing to keep in mind too is that on a bike, the engine is completely exposed, so you will hear every little rattle or noise it makes. Bikes don't have the hood and fenders that a car does to deaden the sound.
But, its been my experience that the 1000rr, especially 04-05, just has a noisy engine. certainly much noiser than other makes and models. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Reading from the forum it says the ticking would stop if the bike got warm if it were the CCT and u had urs replaced...it might be loose....however i have the same thing going on...when my bike starts from cold to running warm it starts ticking and doesn't stop.... it gets louder the faster i rev. whether in neutral or shifting...sounds like someone is tapping a piece of metal with their finger nail. its coming from all around the engine, in the front, Right under the gas-tank. I don't know if this is a serious problem but im freaking out....anyways your explaining my problem as well and i have yet to figure out anything. if u found out the problem let me know to please im gonna take mine in soon ill let u know what they tell me.

I've got a very similar problem on my '03 reg CBR600f sport. It has a tapping noise which seems to come from the front of the engine when the revs are between 2500 and 5000. I had it in for a service in November but the mechanic couldn't find anything wrong or any reason for the tapping. At first I thought it stopped every time i dipped the clutch but tonight I've discovered that's just a coincidence as I obviously generally drop the revs when I pull the clutch lever.
Has anyone found out what the tapping is?

Valve adjustments! I have to get this done, that's my problem, we took my bike apart and some stuff shifted I would get it checked out.
