it is just the power curve and the map of the EFI. you can solve it by getting it dyno tuned specifically to your bike.
You think that mine being an 08 it could be some thing else. Im coming off of a 97 F3 so this bike is a bit different to me.

I posted earlier that mine don't do it anymore after exhaust. I was wrong. Haha. Did it today. Bike was really hot at a light and taking off it did it. I usually blip right through that rpm range and just dont notice it. And once moving never ever in that rpm range. But took a sloppy take off from light today and hit it just right, or wrong. lol. But yup, flat spot at or about 2500-2800 rpm.

I've noticed this too. Although, I only really notice it if I'm paying attention to it, or when I have a passenger, it's way more noticeable when someone is riding on the back. Because it's kind of hard getting that smooth start when it kicks in, you can feel her grab for ya lol.
What he said! Never a problem solo; I guess coz we don't try to be smooth, we just go... Same with changing gear for me - waay smoother on my own!

My friend just got an '06 and he asked me about this same problem. I have never noticed it on mine. I wonder if it is just the ECU map on the 06-07's? I usually clutch through that RPM range though I think, so maybe mine does and I just never noticed. I'll try to ride them back to back and see if I notice a difference. We both have the same slip-on too.

i dont think ive honestly felt anything to the effect of hesitation in that range. my 07 1k is bone stock but i havent been able to ride lately due to weather among other issues. could it be the aftermarket exhaust systems causing this?
