Default 2,500 - 2,800 rpm glitch"

I've got an 07 1k which I've had since new, (four months) and I have quite a power glitch/drop/flat spot between 2,500 and 2,800 rpm; it's only really noticeable in first gear and only then when pottering in town traffic or pulling away slowly. It pulls smoothly till 2,500 then stays flat till 2,800 where it pulls again with a jerk. 9 times out of 10 it's not an issue coz I pull away a bit faster so nip through the flat spot quickly but pulling out of a tight junction two-up on a wet road, it's not acceptable for a modern bike to do this. Anyone else have the same issue? And anyone solved it?
Could of course be the fact that it's my first 4 cyl bikeafter over a decade of V twins...
Oh, and it 'ticks' away noisily at idle till it's warm...
Thanks

My '06 1krr Does the same thing, I've tried a few thing but nothing helps. I'm just glad to hear that it's not just my bike that is doing this...

I did the flapper mod but I haven't noticed a difference in performance/noise etc. I did meet a guy with an 06 who said his was the same. Just thought I'd post here to see if it really is common; maybe a pipe will cure it...

I have an 06 and i guess mine does the same thing, i bet most of them do....i have always noticed that when I let the clutch out slow and smooth that it is about there, 2500 to 2800 rpms where the power of the bike really picks up alot

it is just the power curve and the map of the EFI. you can solve it by getting it dyno tuned specifically to your bike.

I've noticed this too. Although, I only really notice it if I'm paying attention to it, or when I have a passenger, it's way more noticeable when someone is riding on the back. Because it's kind of hard getting that smooth start when it kicks in, you can feel her grab for ya lol.
