‘18 cbr1000rr sp1 stuttering at high rpm
Hi all. For the last couple weeks I’ve noticed my 18 cbr1000s1 will stutter (?) at high rpm’s across all the gears occasionally. Does not happen every time but it seems to be getting worse and happening and lower and lower rpm’s. Today it happened in 1st at around 10k rpm.
This stutter is a pretty violent hiccup, like the whole engine misses a beat and it has happened during cornering and caused pretty close calls. Today in 1st it happened in a straight line but was so violent it actually picked the front tire up a tiny bit when it re-engaged.
only thing I can think of that was done recently was I had a full service with a valve adjustment done about 2500 miles ago. I never noticed either of these things prior to then. Bike has 18k on it now

That is interesting for sure. Seems electrical in nature, like ignition related. I don't think fuel related, unless somehow all injectors stopped functioning that quickly. Since you had the valves looked at and adjusted, they had to remove the ignition related items that are in the way. I think I'd be looking at anything that they might have touched and that they didn't get plugged back in all the way.
