1000 Hard on Bumps

Is it me or is the O8 1000rr hard on bumps. Every time I hit a bump on the road the bike takes gets knocked around easily feels unstable. I guess its from the light weight or stiff suspension. My 929 was much better taking bumps on the road really 'soaked up' the bumps felt more stable. Of coarse, the 929 was a little bit heavier, but it felt more predictable on rough surfaces. Has anyone noticed this w/ their 08 1000rr?

You could always soften up the suspension settings and see how that goes. Personally, the stock settings on my '05 were a little stiff, but some tweaking fixed that.

actually the 08's supsension come pretty soft already and for rougher road riding a harder suspension is better to avoid the squishy bouncy feeling (it even states it in the owners manual for the suspension section), i tightened my rebound 3 clicks front and rear cause i had the same problem when i got my 08, and it definetly feels better. but yes they are hard on bumps pretty much no matter what you do prob has something to do with the short wheel base light weight and aggressive riding position.. its amazing how light bikes are getting i had the wheels off my bike doing some work and had to move it onto a stand and i was able to pick the whole bike up while my buddy slid the stand under it lol

Bump......Same here always feel like im riding a fast ass brick but whatever still love the bike and there are plenty of roads that more than accomodate smooth riding.......tighten up rebound and enjoy!

If it feels too harsh you might need to adjust your suspension settings. There are many things to adjust and changing one can affect something else. Either read up on the procedure or take it to a shop and have it professionally dialed in to your weight and type of riding you mainly do.
