08 1KRR spark plug access

Default 08 1KRR spark plug access

Need to access sparks plugs on 08 1000RRto put fogging oil for storage... anyone already done this and can describe? Tryin to avoid playin it by ear and taking apart more than I need to.

Most are RIDING theres....not storing them! Whats up with that?

Dont have one but most likely gonna have to lift the tank and remove air box. From there take a look, but almost all bikes are done that way.

Military reservehere - just got another all expense paid vacation to the sunny middle east. Will just barely be able to ride the bike past break in before I leave.

Talked to the service techtoday and he says it isn't worth fogging for less than 1 year of storage, just plug the intakes and exhaust. Lookin at about 7 months before bike will be ridden again, so I guess I won't bother.

Im not sure on the 08's. On my 05, you have to access them by removing the radiator and going in through the front of the frame.

I'm sure a call to the dealership and talking to a mechanic would get you the proper answer.
