Default 08 1000 turning off while riding

I have had my 08 for a couple years now and in that time my bike has shut off about three times while riding. I didn't think much of it, just a glitch or something. But in the past three weeks it has happened three times. It happens when I down shift from second to first. It will just shut off as if the kill switch was hit. The gauge stays lit and I can simply press the ignition button and start it right up. It seems to only happen when I let out the clutch slowly at slow speeds, as if the motor isn't getting enough fuel. It's not a huge deal but an inconvenience and obviously something that shouldn't be happening. Any ideas?

Mods: PCV, full Akro Evo, Pair valve, and some cosmetics

I had a similar problem not too long ago. I tore the bike apart troubleshooting everything on the bike. All connectors properly cleaned and greased back up. Nothing!
Turns out the kick stand bracket was loose. I was having momentary disconnection of the base to the frame (GROUND)!!! take a look there and see what happens. GL.

I agree. I would start at your connections for sensors that shut off the bike. The bas is another to inspect.

Also, I've see corroded battery terminals cause similar issues.

Also check for a loose ground connection somewhere. In addition to the one at the battery there's a central grounding point near the right side and in front of the battery tray.

The kick stand itself was nice and tight. But the switch inside might have been losing connection. I took the switch out about a week ago and so far it hasn't happened again. Too soon to mark the problem solved...
