On an 06 CBR1000RR, at the rear of the steering damper unit, there are two little green lights or bulbs or LED's or something (one on each side of the unit) and very close to the fuel tank if you were sitting on the bike and look on each side. Any idea what these are??? Owners manual is no help nor is the service manual, dealer also didn't know so now we're all guessing. The only HESD Malfunction Indicator light is on the main dash. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

 

A picture would be nice. My '04 doesn't have anything matching your description. Have you ever noticed them lighting up?

 

As far as I know, this is the first year for these things being on there, and no, haven't seen them light up. I'll see about getting a photo of them. That's what I'm trying to get figured out, do they light up? Or is it a little green bubbly thing that's letting me know the hydraulic oil on the inside of it is good?? Take a look at them at your nearest dealership and see them for yourself, I'd really like to know what these are. I appreciate your reply.

 

Ours Does have them Chain, its just you can`t see them unless the tank cover is removed. I`ve noticed them, on further inspection its definatley some sort of fluid level check, I just assumed it was for the level inside the damer. ? ? ?
