Default Yes tyres again

I will be after a set of new tyres before too long and have been having a quick look on the internet for prices.I know its a personal thing and everybody (normally)likes what they have got, I like the feel of the Bridgestones I have got at the moment (020) and I have been looking at these to replace mine.
BUT after looking at them I find there are several Battlax in our size range (120/70ZR17--17060ZR17)
They are;
BT-020
BT-021
BT-014
and now there is a new one
BT-016
Whats the difference?
What are you lot running? any of these?

I'm on BT020's Sawnee , though I must say I'm surprised how fast the front has worn , almost due a new one myself , though it's just the softer outer compound that's gone , the middle is fine just goes to show where I ride I suppose , I never really show her a straight stretch of tarmac

Was thinking of going with the BT021 as that is actually the replacement for the BT020 , will probably wait until I do both tyres at the same time though .

While were on the tyre subject again , am I right to assume that I'll go through two fronts for one rear ?

Best options for you would be the 021 Bridgestone, or the Michelin Pilot Road 2
I've had both and the PR2 lasts very well.
The 015 and 016 Bridgestones have great grip but I found they are too soft for the big heavy bike.

While were on the tyre subject again , am I right to assume that I'll go through two fronts for one rear ?

It's generally the other way round ! Mine seem to wear evenly so both go together.

Yep, I've heard the other way around, too.
I know on dirtbikes/dualsports, 2 rear to 1 front is usually the norm.

I've heard good things about the Mich Pilot Road 2.... that may be my next set. Also heard good things about the Bridgestones, too.
Looks like my qualifiers are definately gonna go pretty quick. They were cheap enough, though, that I think it was still worth it. I think I paid $175 for the set on sale. When you factor in frequent changes, though... maybe not so worth it..

My Mich PR2's gave me 17000 om the front and the rear is still on but is pretty shot now at 18000 K's
That's over 10 000 miles and 11250 for F and R.
A new set will cost around $300 US here incl fitting and balancing.
FWIW

Can't beat that, Pete.
How do they grip? Always wondered...
How about in the wet?
Just curious.....
BTW, that doesn't seem like a bad price at all...

Grip is the best I've had from any tyre in wet conditions. They won an award in Europe for wet performance.
In the dry, as good as the BT021, which is good.
The Ride mag in the UK rates the PR2 as the best tyre overall, in wet and dry conditions.........................

Well Rock On, then....

Definately gonna look into those for the next set.
I remember reading some good reviews on them when I bought my qualifiers, but a little less money won out at the time.
Thanks for the info, shadowman..
