Where was my CBR from??
Hi all,
A while ago I came accross a website where it listed all the Honda VIN ranges and the country they are applicable to. I spent all day yesterday trying to find it again and I can't!!!! I've a cbr1000FH (SC21) and, apart from having a KPH speedo, the log book states it was first registered overseas and I'd like to know where this was? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Ad. |

Would need your engine/frame number
If the speedo's in KPH, either has to be europe or Mexico............... Mexico didn't import any mark 2 models. I'll try to look it up if you give me the details above........ |
This one might be a little easier to read .... :icon_wink:
Sorry Pete , my eyes are not that good mate ...LOL http://www.home-business-host.com/im...s/CBR_VINS.jpg |
Thanks very much - thats the details i remember seeing.
Weird though - my V5 (log book) definately states my bike was registered overseas but looking at the chart it should have been a UK bike? Engine VIN sc21e-2017014 Chassis VIN sc21-2012405 Could be an error by the DVLA i guess.....would'nt be the first time!! Thanks again. Ad. |
May have had a speedo transplant at some time. Is your speedo Just in K's or does it have MPH too ?
|
So there was no 92 model? Didn't know that. Did they just extend the 91 and then bring out the revised 93 early?
|
Yup s'far as I know.............
All the so-called 92's are just 91 overstock from dealers............... |

Shadow - no its just in Kmph.
I guess it could have had a speedo change at some point....i'll dig a bit deeper and see if i can find any other indications. Thanks for your help guys. Just want to say a BIG thanks for everyone on this Forum, i dont post much but often come on here for a read. Bike is for sale now as i really don't get the time to ride her much now days. Sad excuse I know, but true and I'd rather let someone else get the enjoyment from her! Ride safe! Ad. |
Sure they made it in 92 as well! Mine's an F-N model, the frame VIN speaks for itself: SC24-2300806, it should go right where in the manual says "not available".
Frame labels are in english, french and german, and on the right hand of the frame, it has this one: https://lh5.ggpht.com/_FN3xGToB6cI/S...0/DSC03690.JPG So, my '92 came from France, that's for sure? :) |
mine was apparently from the uk...and it was imported from italy..interesting.
