After much trouble shooting and playing with fuel lines I FINALLY figured this out.
I swapped the petcock and it dies no more. This was a great learning experience for me.

Now if I can only get enough gas to the carbs to get the RPMs over 10,000.

I have found that an easy way to clear the internal vent tube up inside the tank is to get hold of a length of the old style spiral wound and very flexible choke, throttle or clutch cable, push this up the exit pipe, connest it to an old style hand drill and while turning the drill gradually move the cable in n out until you can hear it at the top of the tank next to the filler. You may have to have several tries in n out to get to the top as any rust n crud will have to be cleared as you go.

I solved the sudden dying problem but still have a consistent bog at very high RPM. I know it's not getting enough gas.
Is this bike suppose to have a fuel pump? It doesn't have one.
What size i.d. fuel line should be on it?
Side note, the big runs PERFECT until pushed to a extreme RPM.

I had the same problem, low down was god but up high bogging down. I checked the carb float levels and they were way out. Number 2 was flooding and the others weren't right either!!! set them and now, what a beast!!

What is the adjusting mechanism for the floats on your bike?

I did as the manual suggested and you adjust by bending the valve needle holder until the floats are at the right height.
