I might get some to try instead of my Lucas top end lube stuff, might work in the boat too.

Ethanol added is fine if you ride every day and are constantly cycling fuel through the bike. Avoid it like the plague if you don't.

Seafoam seems to be the drink of choice around here as far as additives go.

To the guys Stateside, around here most marina gas docks sell 87 octane ethanol free, because of fiberglass or plastic fuel tanks on boats, but won't always sell to landlubbers. I'm living and working in a rural farming area now and many stations offer ethanol free for farm equipment.

What he said. Only caveat is the octane of most ethanol fuels here isn't high enough to satisfy my OCD for 'the best fuel I can put into my cherished ride'. Noting that, if you're on a long highway cruise the lower octane probably doesn't mean anything and will likely help take a bit of tank water with it as it goes.

I will use premium fuel and since my bike doesn't sit long enough for the fuel to go bad, I am not worried about ethanol. I have a boat and here in south Florida, we boaters get taught the ethanol lesson real quick.

I will be taking my first 250 mile road trip on the bike this weekend. Should I put any fuel additive since I will be going through a full tank of gas in one shot?

Is there any carb cleaner additive like injector cleaners?

Best additive for me is Techron and Seafoam. It has been shown to work. Look it up.

I live in the South as well and ride a lot, so I put regular with ethanol. Never had a problem with it, but I do ride almost daily. If the bike is going to sit a month or longer, I don't recommend gas with ethanol. The fuel gums up faster, which is noticed quickly in carb jets. Also, ethanol separates from the gas over time and absorbs moisture, creating a layer of water in your tank. This moisture issue caused major problems with Ducati's plastic tanks which would swell. That's why they switched to all metal tanks.
