What octane gas and fuel additives?
What octane should i use on my new to me 1996 CBR 1000F? It has 7,000 miles. The bike is being shipped as we speak.
Also should I use a fuel treatment? If so, which one and how often should I use it? Pics to come very soon. Thanks All. |
I avoid any ethanol, which here in Missouri means buying premium gas (91 or 93 octane). Most premium gas here is ethanol free.
Usually the only fuel treatment I use is a fuel stabilizer if the bike is expected to sit for a few weeks, though I may use can of Sea Foam at the beginning of the riding season. |
Yep, keep away from ethanol, would only bother to use premium if you have upped the compression on motor (Wiseco big bore kit etc.).

I agree with what was said above. I'd run 89 octane but where I live I can only get ethanol free in premium.

I’ve been running 95/98 in my old girl here in oz put 91 in and it didn’t like it for some reason |
93 octane here in Texas.
Every now and then I add a fuel stabilizer/treatment like Sea Foam. |

Good bit of info thanks. Was think I’ve never heard of 93 before lol |
Over here I use regular unleaded in both bikes but it does contain ethanol, so last fill of the season, before the bikes go under their covers in winter, is super plus unleaded which hasn’t got any in

Always high octane fuel. No supermarket rubbish in my babies.
