Haha... Yep, pretty big trip I'd say. I just hope after the 9.5hr ride down there I can still feel my hands...lol...

On the tire deal, I went with the BT-021.
For gearing, I'm sticking with the 17/44 combo. I like it. I'm gonna go with steel sprocks, too....
Gonna check them out your place... the sprocketcenter...

Edit: I ended up getting the Michelin PR2 rear instead because I found it for only $25 more than the 21. Sprockets are made by JT. I was gonna go with the "parts unlimited" sprockets, but the JTs were only a couple bucks more and at least had specs on them. May not have made a difference, I don't know. The JT looked cooler, tho...

Now I'm looking at some saddlebags....

It is fricken cold her in Kansas, 21 degrees with wind chills in the single digits, so all I did was backed the bike out to the edge of the garage and started her up, let the bike warm up a bit and watched the dmn snow.. can't wait for spring

Just FYI, you can just look at them to check wear. And if you need to replace the pads, just pull the pin and slide 'em on out!

obsurfer, keep the faith! It will warm up eventually...
(I'm in the same boat, unfortunately... )

paul, nice job! Let us know if you figure out a relatively inexpensive way to tune up the missus.

grrr. Went to start mine today and battery not flat but not enuf grunt to turn her over. She be on the charger tonight. You get that when you dont ride em for........3 months........yeah I know I should be bent over for it but when you have a little run about that you'd be better off bending ( god forbid ) than the 1000F I ride it instead. Goin away next week though for an overnighter and she will be coming out then....

The big thing I did today was clean out my garage. It's not completely spotless yet (and certainly not organized..lol), but I can finally see the floor!
It took me several hours just to get it looking this good, so after dinner I treated myself to putting the 'Cane up and pulling the sprockets.
Man, it feels good to have my garage back.

I also tried out my new stands today and I'm actually happy with them. They are much more stable than I expected. I can yank on the rear while it's up, and it barely moves. Sweet!

Crappy cell pics, but I'll post them up. I always like looking at pics...

The sprockets etc are off now, and I'm gonna take it to get the PR2 fitted early next week. (I may just mount it myself tomorrow if I can't get someone to do it for cheap)
Then I'm gonna give her a much needed cleaning...
