True

so this afternoon I put an admore mini LED lightbar on the rear of the 93 just above the "reg plate"
with a 9 led strip just behind it to act as a plate light !

just got a 91 CBR1000fm. LOVE IT!!! it's my first bike in years! found out through the DMV here in North Carolina, that it has been wrecked and considered damaged :-( no worries however, im slowly rebuilding and making it my own ;-) week #1 new tires and racing bearings. week#2 new chain ordered. week#3 brand new battery! next few things on list include a clutch plate kit, and oil change. also looking for aftermarket fairings or clean original fairing kit. seat is also cracking and will need replacing. clutch is slipping when i give her the power..pretty depressing.

Welcome Slademade - sounds like all good plans - you may have oil in there
that is "energy conserving" oil for auto's - that will make the clutch plates slip
as you describe. Put Rotella T diesel oil in there instead see if things start to
improve !

Welcome to the site, man.
A little clutch slip isn't too bad, tho. Could be much worse. Clutches are an easy job on most bikes.
Now if your clutch was slipping in your car... yeah, that would be a bit depressing. Those are always such a pain in the ***. lol...

Thank you both. I will have to give the rotella a try. Is there a certain weight I should look for? How much oil does a bike like this require

4 Quarts & Rotella T is a 15/40 weight - may take a couple of hundred miles before the "energy conserving" stuff wears off

Thumbs up work in progress

Well, itsbeen a while so here's a quick update on the 1000F

MOT passed with 1 advisory -rear tyre near legal limit

Not bad for a '93 with 81,000 miles

Rear end stripped and degunked of winter debris, muck and grease
Rear swing arm and wheel off - rubbed down, re-sprayed and lacquered
Rear brake caliper overhauled and refitted
Still to do
brake and cluch fluid change
Front wheel strip, clean and respray
Seat recover and refoam

Some riding

Cheers guys

Rick
