What does it feel like when your steering bearings start to wear

Plenty of high speed flat tires ....but never a blow out ...
I have, at over 160kph ridden one flat front to a stop and saved it ...ok , I was in the dirt and just about out of road all together at the end of the thing ... but we stayed upright !!
Rode in to work today with a **** load of clobber on the bike. Distributed weight instead of loading it all in the box. Much better. I just hate riding with a rucksack on but it beats crap handling any day.
and of course your thread still lives mate .... we haven't started crapping on about the speed of light in it as yet mate ! LOLOL

Not that I like dragging old turds to the surface once they've eventually sunk but I just wanted to let you know (back on track) that my steering bearings are actually starting to bonk a bit. I had the bike MOT'd a month ago and the same mechanic that had ridden the bike a few months before, declaring that he couldn't find anything wrong with the steering, now thought the bearings were on their way out. WTF. I should learn not to take second opinions.
New bearings sitting on my bench. All that's need now is time and a Honda nut socket. Think I'll go blackmail them at the bike shop, unless they lend me theirs for the day.
Hip, hip ho bloody ray..... at last.
Foot note:
Since fitting the Bridgestone BT 021's the steering has been nothing short of micro precise. just goes to show eh?

Thats as long as you are using mag wheels and tubeless tires, no issues there. Ive seen a few classic and HD riders crashed on the side of the road with shredded tires when a spoke let loose and punctured the tube after hitting road debris or a pothole near I95, WDC. They were blowouts big time.

Cheers Ern,
I already clocked your comment about using the pipe wrench. That's plan B if the managing director in a frock and heels photo doesn't cut the mustard.
There's also a guy on the bay selling CNC special tools who can knock the sockets out for a reasonable cost. Just wanna try getting my mits on the goodies the good old fashioned way first.
Dub, please don't mention spokes. You'll get Steve going again. I dread a tyre going bang every minute I'm riding but you gotta have faith in something.
