Best Boot I've gotten so far- but no longer avail

 

Sidi Vertigo's for me, but they do come up slightly small. Half a size bigger for me was ok.

But if you're riding to work the 'work boot' option might be the most practical including the size issue.

 

Main issue...nothing that slips on/off.

When it's all said and done, if you have an accident and the boot doesn't
stay ON your foot, it didn't do it's job.

All the gear, All the time (ATGATT) includes, as the accident unfolds.
Motorcycle boots are designed to be stiff and uncomfortable anywhere
but while on the bike. So for max protection, design will win out.

Any ankle>higher, lace/zip/Velcro fastening boot, is the next tier of protection.
We all know it sucks carrying/swapping at your destination,
so sometimes it is the more practical solution.

You should definitely avoid any below ankle shoe, regardless of lace-up/fasteners.
Google "de-glove foot injuries", if you need a convincing argument.

The same goes for the argument on hand-protection, as well.

tried loads of more expensive boots on, and i went for fit.
there must be a few vain sufferers out there wanting bling stuff with the trendy names.
or i have flippers for feet.

 

I'm wearing rst stunt boots atm in size 13. Would usually be a 12 but went a size up cause of a bad ankle, there fairly comfy and work well with the shifters.

 

Right now i dont have much budget for riding boots. I have always used a pair of tan suede army boots, they aren't the issued style, they're more sneaker style. Danner winter boots. When i have some spare change, i will probably invest in some touring boots from leatherup.com such as these:

I have had a leather jacket for years (Xelement, the leatherup.com brand; absolutely supreme quality and durability considering the less than $100 price tag) and i love it. Have also had Xelement brand saddlebags when i had a cruiser. You can't beat the quality to price ratio in my opinion.

I wear some cowboy boots with leather soles. They were pretty slippery at first but I am used to them now and generally feel quite comfortable with the level of traction I get.

Poor ankle impact protection is a definite downside.

 

Man I almost bought those very boots but I held off as footwear from Leatherup has been hit or miss for me in the past. I do have a black leather jacket from them and it has been great for me for over 5 years now. You really can't go wrong with their jackets, plus they're cheap as can be. I wanna say I got this one, the pic makes it look like the arms are super baggy which they aren't. Really nice jacket and CHEAP!

 

Yeah I love leatherup.com. I dont know how they make everything so cheap but i have been super satisfied with everything i have gotten from there. I haven't tried any leatherup footwear though so i can't speak from experience.
