Lots use Rotela, I use Motul synthetic. Choose the right weight for your temperature conditions (see your manual, download from the forum if you haven't already), stick to a good quality oil. Never use car oil and, most importantly, change your oil regularly (5-6oookm) and your filter every second oil change. If you do that, you can't go too far wrong. Use the search tab up the top and you'll get all the info on oils that you could ever wish to see...possibly more.

Dave , first time I seen someone not changing a filter with the actual oil
change .....wow I always change mine as the filter is the **** catcher !
Especially when we're talking wet clutch common oil scenario..
Not saying you are wrong or right ......... it just caught my attention fast

I use Castrol power 1 GPS 10w 40. Best oil i have ever used in the bike, Bike runs far better on it and a lot smoother too... Not the cheapest oil, but you don't want to skimp on the life blood in the beast.....
P.s I agree with Sprock, i would never change the oil without changing filter too... I also only use genuine Honda filters...

I'm with Boab and Sprock. I to use Castrol GPS Power 1 10w 40 and Honda filters. I also agree that you should change your filter at EVERY oil change. You get what you pay for in almost every thing in life, therefore I don't scrimp on crappy, cheap engine oil. We dont have Rotella here so I cant really comment on it as a motorcycle engine oil. I wouldnt put anything else in my bike other than the Castrol stuff.
