Web Space Needed

Hi Folks,

I have a few files I want to share with the group, but I need some web space to do it in. My provider only allows 30MB. Google allows 100MB, but biggest file size is 10MB :(

Here is what I want to host for everyone.
CBR1000F Service Manual 11MB
CBR1000F MicroFiche 1990-1991 17MB
CBR1000F Microfiche 1993-1996 14MB

also a cool how-to riding book called Sports Riding Techniques 58MB

Anyone know of any free servers where I can host such big files?

Thanks

http://www.brinkster.com/will give you 30Meg
http://www.freewebspace.netis a search engine that will list other that will give you space

I've got the Honda Common Service Manual (came off this forum) and some microfiche files, not good quality but may have something that the book hasn't

Trips, those PDF's seem rather large... I'd assume they could be re-distilled at a lower resolution which oughta bring the filesize down a bit which might help for online storage.

If you don't have full version of Acrobat then perhaps I could organise an FTP account on a server at work you could upload one and I could re-PDF and see if it works. Perhaps PM me if you're interested and I'll organise an FTP address and log-in details to upload one.

Cheers. Carl.

Deletion & Max File Size: Files will be automatically removed 30 days after the last download, so as long as your file is downloaded once every 30 days it will stay online forever. Max file size is 100MB.

That sounds like the plan. I have distilled those files down!

If you don't care about speed and address, I have both http and ftp server at home. It is working 24 x 7. Or, my brother in Japan has the similar server with fiber optic access circuit. It is 10 times firster than my cable access. Either way I can work on it. As Carl says, probably we can shrink the file size... Let me know what I need to do!!

I have no suggestion as to where you put them, but when you do find a host. please post the link! :D
I for one will relieve the host of some bandwidth!!!!

I would prefer to see the files left as a big file, than have the quality compromise by re-processing the PDF’s.
You can also do a MD5 on the files so that you can always confirm that what you downloaded is 100% correct.

There was another thread about creating a FAQ/DIY document, this would be a good place to include it.
