Water pump failure

Water pump failure
Hey guys and gals...
My '93 CBR1000F had been running hot, so I started troubleshooting. The T-stat was good but I noticed that I wasn't getting any coolant flow.
It turns out that the end of the water pump shaft had sheared off [:@] The pump wasn't locked up, so it seemed a little odd. Weird thing was that it never really overheated, just ran hot...granted it's Winter, but air temps are still in the 60s out here. The bike is a high miler (130,000mi), and is ridden daily.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Oh, does anyone know where I can buy a water pump for a 1993 CBR1000F, cheap?

ControlFreak,
For the mileage of your 1KR, the water pump might be the end of it's life, but I suspect the thermostat first. If the thermostat doesn't fully open when the coolant gets hot, engine runs hot, but never got over heated. If I were you, go through the cheaper way first...

RE: Water pump failure
It's definitely the water pump. I pulled it off after noticing that the coolant wasn't moving, and the shaft that drives the impeller came out in three little, shattered pieces.[sm=oopssign.gif]
Thanks for the info...The local Honda dealer wants $230.00 for a pump...[sm=insomnia.gif]

Oh, gee... bless your heart. Try http://www.hondaparts-direct.com You may need to wait for a week to get the part, but their prices are great. Oh, mdfirefighter already posted this link.
