Welcome to the forum !
You can fit the 89-91 wheel with minor modifications to the spacers for the rear.
It's been done many times by members of this forum - do a search in the history................
and don't go bigger than a 180/55/17 on the rear or your handling will suffer.

Hi mate and welcome. The rear wheel out of the 1990 onwards fits with very little work. You need the spindle and the spacers. Remove the hugger and either cut the chain guard off and use that or get the later chain guard as well. This allows you to go up to 180x55x17 tyres which means you have the option of using sports bike sticky tyres. I have and the difference is quite staggering. You can find the parts on ebay at the momment. Good luck and ride safe, if you look back a few pages you will see the post I did after dooing mine. Even has pictures Malc

Your bike takes a 140 rear, stock. Most of the newer, high tech tires aren't available in that size.
