wandering & weird steering
Evening friends,
Just thought I would share this, as it has been an issue since I bought my CBR 2 1/2 years ago ...
The bike would wander when going in a straight line, yet, if you had the confidence, would tip into corners fine .... it was something that drove me crazy, until today.
Had the forks rebuilt, head bearings adjusted, wheel & swing arm bearings checked, brakes checked ...... nothing made any difference... I was almost starting to think it was me.....
Long story short .... i had the bike into my dealer for an oil & filter change and mentioned the problem to the boss .... turns out that he used to race one and had a soft spot for the old girls, so said he'd take a look.
Turns out that the front tyre was unevenly worn, causing the handling issue ... apparently, quite a common problem ..... anyway, new front tyre fitted today and I'm happy to report that all my steering / handling problems are now sorted!!! Just got to scrub it in now! Haha!
Have a great Easter weekend, everyone .... I'm off for a rideout with some mates on Monday around the 5 passes in the Lake District
Regards, shakey

When I change my tires they still look good and will pass DMV inspections. In the states they ware on the left front and yours on the right due to the side of the road we ride on.
If I test ride a bike I take the tire ware into account as it really does effect how the bike feels. Glad you got her straighten out.
