Default Vehicle Inspection Check

Well, my CBR now has its new crankcase cover, has passed its MOT and is ready to be picked up from the mender.
So I called my insurance broker and asked for their fax number so I could fax them the MOT. They said I was still insured but I told them the bike was a Category C. They telephoned the insurer and told me I also need a VIC. Not a Vehicle Identity Check, but a Vehicle Inspection Check (sounds like tautology to me). To ensure the bike is roadworthy, apparently the MOT certificate isn't good enough.
Anyone had to do this? Know where I need to go? VOSA testing station? AA or RAC?
Any help appreciated... As you can imagine, I'm itching to get back on the bike...

Wow, sounds like something they do around here just to squeeze a few more pennies out of you.

I think the insurers over there do it (where you are most times ) Hawk to verify "dicey" vin numbers and to
catch stolen bikes with vins that have "travelled" !

Default NH217M - black or red?

Yes - called the broker again to double-check I was still insured as I wanted to ride the bike home - this time they said it was a Vehicle Identity Check, so I'll sort that out.
Really happy to have the bike back again, but sooooo different from the CBF. Heavier, lower bars, higher pegs, nicer noise - but seems nowhere near as responsive.
Needed new battery, rear disc and pads, right crankcase cover.
Spent a little while today applying plastex to various places that need it.
The brake pedal seems to be bent, will source a new one. Also need right-side upper fairing protector, a black one. The parts list shows no. 19 on the Cowl section as avaialble in Zeus silver, furious red, passion red, but mine is black. Part no. 27 (left side protector) shows Zeus silver, furious red, checker black. Is NH217M black or red?
