Value of bike
I bought 1000 cc 87 cane for $900 US in pretty bad shape. I did what I could do over the winter andI WANT this bike to go. I went to a dealer service (won't next time) and they're saying $2300 US total = $3200. I believe the bike will be tip-top when this is done. My question: What is the market value for an 87 in reasonably great shape? (Off the top of your head).

Depends on the purchaser. If you check ebay right now, there are only 2 Hurricanes:
a 1988 model in great shape http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-...QQcmdZViewItem. Current bid is $1500 but the reserve is not yet met. Probably set around $2500.
a 1987 fixer upper http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-...QQcmdZViewItem. Current bid it $1100. No reserve. About a day left on the bidding.
So, like I said: the value is probably around $2700. But that doesn't mean you'll find someone to offer you that for it. I have seen some pretty nice 929 and 954RR models around for under $4000.
